Thought Leadership & Insights

Executive Insight

At Hoggett Bowers we work hard to stay on top of the issues which affect the talent market in the sectors in which our clients and candidates compete. We do this through the process of consulting with our clients, working with experts in associated areas (such as coaching and psychometric profiling) and taking every opportunity to share knowledge while we network with people in our different communities.

Thought Leadership Articles

From time-to-time we craft a Thought Leadership piece on a topic of importance to our clients and distribute it on social media. More often, though, we tap directly into our communities of CEOs, CFOs, NEDs and HRDs and ask them to give us their thoughts on a current topic after each of the regular networking events (lunches and dinners) that we host for each of these groups; we then collate these discussions into Thought Leadership commentaries and distribute them to our wider communities via social media.

More recently we have hosted breakfast events for individuals who share an interest in a particular topic, such as risk management, regulation and reputation management, which again gives us the opportunity to update our own insight in these areas and share these insights with our clients.

Our guests are always forthright during these discussions as all our events are run in a confidential setting and we promise that commentary is never attributed to any named individual.

If you would like to ensure you receive a link to our Thought Leadership articles in future, please contact Catherine Mulder on 020 7964 9112.

Recent Events

We gather great insight from our broad network of contacts. Additionally we gain rich content around trends as well as current views and sentiments from a range of ‘networking events’ we host. These events include lunches for CEOs, CFOs and NEDs; we also host dinners for HRDs, and breakfasts for all disciplines, which are led by a recognised expert as a guest speaker.

Some of our current insight has come from the following recent events:

  • Sue Langley OBE, the the current Non-Executive Chairman for AJ Gallagher UK and the Lead Non-Executive Director for the Home Office, spoke at our most recent HR Directors' dinner (co-sponsored by PA Consulting). She spoke to around 80 senior HR Directors and shared some of her experiences during her "accidental" career in financial services as she rose from graduate trainee to Chair.
  • Nicola Horlick, CEO of Money&Co, a peer to peer business crowdfunding platform, was our guest speaker and addressed our audience on the pending EU referendum and some of the wider ramifications, which was followed by a lively Q&A Session.
  • Sir John Armitt, a leading light in transport and infrastructure, perhaps best known as the man who chaired the Olympic Delivery Authority for the 2012 Olympics and got the Olympic Park built, spoke as our breakfast speaker at the Law Society. He chose as his topic: “Jobs, growth, future prosperity; just how wide is the potential influence of the National Infrastructure Commission?”
  • Dr Richard Ward, Chairman of Brit Insurance spoke at the most recent in our series of HR Directors' Dinners in the Great Hall at Lincoln's Inn. Richard said that his main love has always been science, so he always looks to see how he can apply science in business. He looked for a formula to apply and came up with the 'Change Equation'
