Following a successful competitive pitch against two other global executive search firms, Hoggett Bowers was commissioned to find a COO for a challenger brand in the UK energy retail sector. The parent group’s instruction was that the successful candidate must have the headroom to step up to the CEO role within 12 months of being appointed.
Due to Hoggett Bowers strong contact network in the energy sector complemented by a thorough and comprehensive search process, a total of twelve candidates were initially interviewed by us, resulting in a strong and diverse shortlist of five people submitted for client interviews. Three exceptional candidates went through three separate client iterations before an offer was made and accepted.
The COO, who had previously worked in Telecoms, made such an impressive impact on joining the business that he was duly promoted to the CEO role within 3 months.
Following a structural review, Hoggett Bowers was then commissioned by the CEO to find a COO and a Marketing Director for his leadership team. Both roles were delivered within tight timescales and resulted in the appointment of “big hitters” from the energy sector who have significantly increased the overall competence and capability of the top team.
